Nagpur: In the last 12 months, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has accrued a high-quality of over $2.05 crore from 37,238 individuals for throwing rubbish at public places.NMC's solid waste control department has deployed nuisance detection squads (NDS) throughout the city under its 10 zones.
The retired jawans from defence offerings were maintaining vigil across the metropolis and penalizing residents who throw garbage at the streets and pavements, spit, pollute, muddle, and use plastic bags. From October 2022 to October 2023, the NDS group penalized around 37,238 — more or less round one hundred human beings according to day — for throwing rubbish at roads, footpaths, and open areas. Even shopkeepers, instructional establishments had been penalized for throwing rubbish in public locations. The NDS crew had gathered $2.05 crore from the offenders. Meanwhile, on Monday the NDS crew, in a operation" target="_blank">joint operation with Maharashtra Pollution Control Board MPCB), recovered $10,000 pleasant and seized 6kg of banned single use plastics in raids at shops at Garoba Maidan and Mehedibag Road.
